What karma proffers in the course of living is always double-sided.
There is the Should and beyond that also always the Could.
On the left hand the debt which may awaken in conscience.
And on the right, a glimmering moment of free opportunity.
It is an unfortunate error to think exclusively in terms of “slap on the wrist”.
This is to miss the gift aspect — the infinite creative possibility.
Esotericism describes these two poles as Moon and Sun.
Karma of the Moon haunts us and seems to rope in our lifepath.
It lives in and draws force from the past, often the deep past.
Karma of the Sun intrigues us, an ephemeral twinking of a new idea.
It is harder to spot since it lives in and beams force from our futures.
There can be an enormous power in this gift from Providence, this Sun karma.
Chances exist for the transforming of many interwoven destiny threads.
Once the Should has been accomplished, seek warmly for the Could.
In fact, view this as part of the same deed; a single destiny episode.
The creative power might have meaning only for you. It is your obstacle.
But the resulting sunlight can illuminate far beyond your own horizon.
True transformation always includes a shedding of some past skin.
Said otherwise, creative redeeming evolution involves some specific sacrifice.
Some aspect of what was held to be crucial “self” needs to be left behind.
For all real growth, Cosmos asks that one thing decreases so another can birth.
In Christianity, the Old Testament forms a picture of mostly Moon karma.
In Christianity, Golgotha pictures the unfathomable redemption of Sun karma.
Since that moment, creative tampering with destiny is possible in every human life.

Notes : The chosen title is actually a saying of a Tibetan lama passed along by Dennis Klocek, who is a very interesting and worthwhile teacher/researcher/alchemist/lecturer in the area of spiritual development. Much appreciation to him. link.
