Ossified Epoch

Steven Pinker gives talks, graces panels, and writes popular intellctual tomes peppered with statistical graphs devoted to arguing how the Age of Reason, despite illusory appearances, is right on track ushering us forwards to the least dangerous, most progressive, and objectively flourishing period in human history. What a clueless prick.

Isn’t it because you lack a specific capacity
That you perforce label alternatives ‘spooky’ or ‘magical’?

Take a look about you — modernity & post-modernity
Does it not seem their undies are showing, and soiled?

And doesn’t your diagnosis of myself as ‘wishful’
boil down to the world’s successful stifling of your perception?

And mustn’t the thawing you deeply crave, unawares
be solely dependent on something in you, not external?

Crystals are nearly as gorgeous as you are, my sweet
But their spirits are frozen and not in their hands

Notes: Concerning my Pinker-derision above, one needn’t necessarily pick on him. The contemporary Intel-elite is literally teeming with geniuses of all all types who are unable to see the fallacy of their own deepest held prior commitments. If you watch the mentioned video debate, it will become evident that Sadhguru has one eye, at least, while Pinker is blind, if you can stay with the full two hours and watch objectively. I’d not heard of Sadhguru before, but he’s on the right track by my lights.
